DESCRIPTION:PIANTAOS is a musical performance by ÍNDIGO DÚO & MARÍA JOSÉ TORRES\, conceived as a tribute to the great Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla – the great renovator of tango – who\, on 11 March 2021\, would have turned 100 years old\, and whose work is still as relevant as the first day. It is not in vain that Piazzolla once said that he had an illusion\, “that his work would be heard in 2020\, and in 3001 as well”. \nThe musical selection is basically made up of the Argentine maestro’s most recognisable repertoire\, including such well-known tangos as Adiós Nonino\, Balada para un loco and Vuelvo al sur\, to name but a few. The show will also include the instrumental piece “Tango Suite”\, by Piazzolla himself\, and two new compositions by Leandro Ariel Martin and Víctor Landeira\, world premieres. Vibrant rhythms alongside more leisurely ones\, with the constant presence of Buenos Aires\, at times almost as just another character and at other times as an urban theatre in which diverse beings from the outskirts of the city coexist. \nRaised in New York\, Astor Piazzolla returned to Argentina as a young man with a bandoneon his father had given him and with his sights set on transforming the traditional popular tango. The influence of classical music and his taste for jazz and other contemporary forms such as rock\, as well as the knowledge acquired during his stays in France and Italy\, together with his time in the USA\, brought him closer to a modern tango\, rich in instrumentation and exquisite to the ear. \nPiantaos is\, in short\, a journey through the most significant aspects of Piazzolla’s long musical career. DESCRIPTION:PIANTAOS es un espectáculo musical de ÍNDIGO DÚO & MARÍA JOSÉ TORRES\, concebido como homenaje al gran compositor argentino Astor Piazzolla – gran renovador del tango – quien\, el pasado 11 de marzo de 2021\, habría cumplido cien años\, y cuya obra sigue tan vigente como el primer día. No en vano\, Piazzolla alguna vez dijo que tenía una ilusión\, “que su obra se escuchara en el 2020\, y en el 3001 también”. \nLa selección musical está conformada básicamente por el repertorio más reconocible del maestro argentino\, entre lo que cabe destacar tangos tan conocidos como Adiós Nonino\, Balada para un loco o Vuelvo al sur\, por citar solo algunos ejemplos. Así mismo\, en el espectáculo se incluirá la obra instrumental “Tango Suite”\, del propio Piazzolla\, y dos nuevas composiciones de Leandro Ariel Martin y Víctor Landeira\, estrenos absolutos. Ritmos vibrantes junto a otros más pausados\, con la presencia constante de Buenos Aires\, unas veces casi como un personaje más y otras como teatro urbano en el que conviven diversos seres arrabaleros. \nCriado en Nueva York\, Astor Piazzolla regresó de joven a Argentina con un bandoneón que le había regalado su padre y con la mira puesta en transformar el tradicional tango popular. La influencia de la música clásica y su gusto por el jazz y otras formas contemporáneas como el rock\, así como el bagaje adquirido durante sus estancias en Francia e Italia\, junto a su paso por EEUU\, lo aproximaron a un tango moderno\, rico en instrumentación y exquisito al oído. \nPiantaos supone\, en suma\, un recorrido por lo más significativo de la larga trayectoria musical de Piazzolla.
