On the 2nd of November I was invited by the Nino Díaz Foundation to give a concert in the Municipal Theatre of Tías (Lanzarote), which was almost full to capacity. It was a wonderful experience because from the first moment you can feel the desire to do well, to please and to promote culture, taking care of every detail of the organisation and treatment of the artists.
In this case I shared the stage with my Lanzarote colleague and friend Pancho Corujo, accompanied on piano by Javier Carmena.
It was truly a unique occasion of which I have fond memories and which gives me a feeling of gratitude to all those involved both in the programming and in the staging of the concert, since it is thanks to initiatives such as this that the promotion of culture, and more specifically of opera, has a response from the public who attend the event en masse.
I would therefore like to express my congratulations to Nino Díaz and all the members of the Foundation and I encourage them to continue with this praiseworthy work in defence of quality culture, a work in which I will always be at their side.
