SUMMARY:Cuarteto de saxofones Atlántico
DESCRIPTION:El Cuarteto de saxofones Atlántico está avalado por una trayectoria exitosa que lo ha convertido en un referente de la música de cámara en Canarias. \nEste grupo de cámara\, formado por Jorge Betancor (saxo soprano)\, Jonás Quesada (saxo alto)\, Salvador Santana (saxo tenor) y Sergio Yánez (saxo barítono)\, se ha consolidado como uno de los principales de este tipo en el archipiélago canario como muestra sus múltiples actuaciones a lo largo de la geografía canaria y la psenínsula. El cuarteto ha desarrollado a la vez una importante labor pedagógica con la celebración de conciertos escolares\, conferencias y cursos con el fin de dar a conocer el saxofón y sus sonidos\, destacando el inédito “Viaje a San Borondón” con música creada por el compositor canario Ernesto Mateo. En el año 2003\, obtuvo el 2º Premio en el Concurso de Música de Cámara de Cajacanarias celebrado en Santa Cruz de Tenerife. En mayo de 2006 también fue galardonado con el 2º Premio del concurso UFAM (Unión Francesa de Artistas Musicales). \nOtros Premios: \n1er Premio en el Concurso de Música de Cámara de Mirabent i Magrans\, celebrado en Sitges (2006). \nSemifinalista del Concurso de Música de Cámara Ciudad de Lucena (Córdoba) 2006. \n2º Premio en el Concurso Regional de Música de Cámara de Cajacanarias 2007 (Tenerife). \nSu repertorio abarca un amplio abanico de estilos que va desde adaptaciones de música barroca y clásica hasta música contemporánea u obras con reminiscencias de jazz. \nAsimismo ha estrenado un importante número de obras compuestas expresamente para el grupo de prestigiosos compositores canarios\, como Juan Manuel Ruiz\, Juan Manuel Marrero\, Ernesto Mateo\, Nino Díaz o Eliseo Alemán entre otros\, contribuyendo al desarrollo y difusión de la creación musica contemporánea de Canarias. \n\nPROGRAMA \nOverture de concerto. SUMMARY:Atlantic Saxophone Quartet
DESCRIPTION:The Cuarteto de saxofones Atlántico is backed by a successful career that has made it a benchmark for chamber music in the Canary Islands. \nThis chamber group\, formed by Jorge Betancor (soprano saxophone)\, Jonás Quesada (alto saxophone)\, Salvador Santana (tenor saxophone) and Sergio Yánez (baritone saxophone)\, has established itself as one of the leading groups of its kind in the Canary Islands\, as shown by its many performances throughout the Canary Islands and the Spanish mainland. The quartet has also developed an important pedagogical work with the celebration of school concerts\, conferences and courses with the aim of making the saxophone and its sounds known\, highlighting the unpublished “Viaje a San Borondón” with music created by the Canarian composer Ernesto Mateo. Un día\, se encuentra con una mujer seductora de la ciudad y cae bajo su influencia. Ella convence al granjero para que asesine a su esposa y así puedan comenzar una nueva vida juntos en la ciudad. Sin embargo\, cuando el granjero lleva a cabo su plan\, es inundado por la culpa y el remordimiento. \n“Amanecer” es aclamada como una de las películas más destacadas de la era del cine mudo. Ganó el premio único de “Mejor Película Única y Artística” en la primera edición de los Premios de la Academia en 1929. Localizaciones: Fuencaliente (La Palma). \nSinopsis \nLa erupción duró desde el 26 de octubre de 1971 hasta el 18 de noviembre de ese mismo año y fue relativamente corta\, la más corta de las históricas de Canarias. Gentes de las islas\, periodistas\, científicos y turistas se acercaron a ver la erupción. La penúltima erupción volcánica histórica ocurrida en el Archipiélago Canario y en España\, fue en La Palma\, a principios de los años 70 del pasado siglo y a manos del Volcán de Teneguía\, que tiene una altitud de 439 m y situado en el extremo meridional de la Cumbre Vieja. La lava sepultó bajo un manto de 4 m una superficie de 2.845.000 m2 y su derrame ganó terreno al mar y fosilizó un cantil costero que formó un delta de lava e hizo crecer el tamaño de la isla. No afectó a zonas pobladas\, pero produjo daños materiales a los cultivos de la vid de la zona y también destruyó una playa. La Palma se convirtió entonces en un importante atractivo turístico y han sido numerosos turistas a lo largo de estos más de 45 años los que se han acercado a esta isla a visitar el volcán. Al volcán se le dio el nombre de Teneguía ya que viene de un roque situado próximo al punto donde nace y que fue nombrado así por los antiguos canarios que habitaban la isla.
