In the heart of Arrecife\, a jewel of silent film comes to life with the unique energy of a pianist on stage. \nThe Tiempos Modernos Festival invites you to an immersive cultural experience: the screening of “Under the Mask of Pleasure” (Die Freudlose Gasse\, 1925\, Germany)\, a masterpiece by G. W. Pabst that is part of the German New Objectivity movement. With its stark realism in its social themes and direct mise-en-scène\, it moves away from expressionist stylisation to offer a critical and penetrating view of its time.
